Pastoral Care 

Phillips Theological Seminary invites applications for a tenure or tenure-track faculty appointment, beginning July 1, 2020, in Pastoral Care. Rank open; salary commensurate with rank. PhD or ThD preferred; ABD considered. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to teach seminary students to provide skillful pastoral care to individuals across the life cycle, to families of diverse configurations, and to communities and institutions (with particular attention to congregational contexts). In addition, the successful candidate will contribute to scholarship in pastoral care and/or pastoral theology or a closely related field, and will be able to teach in one of the following secondary areas: CPE; Spiritual Practices; Chaplaincy; Ethics; Leadership; Global, Indigenous, and Postcolonial Christianities; Interreligious and Intercultural Encounter; Trauma Theology; or Peace and Conflict Studies. Special consideration will be given to candidates who can contribute to our emerging Black Church Traditions/African American Faith-Life program. Responsibilities will include teaching in both the Master’s and Doctor of Ministry programs across online and on-campus formats.
