Boston College’s School of Theology and Ministry (STM) seeks to appoint a tenure-track professor in Religious Education with a focus in youth and young adult faith. The professor in this position also oversees the Contextual Education Program; rank is open. This appointment will be within the STM’s Department of Religious Education and Pastoral Ministry (DREPM), to begin Fall 2021. Candidates should have a PhD in Religious Education or a closely related field. Experience and expertise in supervised ministry and curriculum development for ministerial field experience is required. Candidates should possess a commitment to theological education for lay and ordained ministry; familiarity with Roman Catholic polity and pastoral life is essential.
Candidates should be prepared to teach courses in the following areas: theory and practice of ministry with youth and with young adults, developmental theories, conversations across differences, and contextual education (field experience).
