I recently posted about the upcoming APT session at the AAR. But beyond our single session, I also want to remind APT members and friends about other practical theology sessions at the Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Religion (22-25 November 2014, in San Diego). The Practical Theology Group coordinates several sessions each year at AAR, and this year there are three:
(For more details about these sessions, check the Annual Meeting Preliminary Program Book, posted here.)
A22-328: “Opening the Field of Practical Theology (Rowman and Littlefield, 2014): Exploring a New Textbook Through Intersectionality”, Saturday 4:00-6:30, Hilton Bayfront-Sapphire M
A23-268: “Human Finitude: Insights from Dis/ability, Islam, and Conflict”, Sunday 3:00-4:30, Convention Center 9
A24-241 (co-sponsored with Ecclesial Practices Group): “Beyond Description in Practical Theology: Analysis, Norms, Revised Praxis”, Monday 1:00-3:30, Hilton Bayfront-Sapphire A
It promises to be another strong AAR for practical theology. Looking forward to San Diego!
