[click post title to see the document] Many practical theologians work as adjunct/contingent faculty. The topic of our Association of Practical Theology session at the American Academy of Religion in 2014 was “Forming Practical Theologians for Emerging Spaces of Employment.” Adjunct/contingent labor is not only “emerging,” it seems to be ensconced already as part of the new academic labor structure. The American Academy of Religion has recently released the statement “Responsible Institutional Practices: A Statement on Standards Pertaining to Contingent Faculty in the Study of Religion“.
