The Association of Practical Theology will hold the 32nd biennial conference at Vanderbilt University Divinity School (Nashville, TN), March 28-30, 2014.
The APT executive committee invites proposals for papers or panel sessions for the biennial conference theme: “Practicing Public Theology.”
While all proposals on this central theme are welcome, the following areas are especially encouraged: 1. public concerns of faith; 2. the evolving challenges/claims of a post-secular culture; 3. teaching practical theology as public theology; and 4. the challenging publics of practical theology.
The Association of Practical Theology values diversity in scholarship as an important factor in academic excellence. Toward that end, please include within your proposal a statement of no more than 100 words describing how your work may diversify or expand current scholarship in practical theology.
Proposals should be no more than 750 words. Proposals should be submitted electronically as double-spaced Word documents. The body of the proposal should not include information that would identify the author. Please include a separate document that provides identifying information about the author (i.e. name, institution, etc.) and the corresponding proposal title.
Proposals will be selected by a blind peer review process.
