APT NEWS & RESOURCES

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to Association of Practical Theology members and friends! We have a lively 2016 in store–from our Biennial Conference in April to our presence at the American Academy of Religion in November–and of course more communications through our social media throughout the year, to advance the professional conversation and share information related to practical theology.
Biennial Conference registration is open, and we will be highlighting different aspects of the conference as we get closer to April. Our theme is “Live, Move, and Have Being: Migration and Practical Theology.” Registration costs are the same for the 2016 Biennial as they were for the 2014 Biennial (which means it’s actually a little cheaper now), and are deeply discounted for students. People are attending from around the USA and from various parts of the world.
As you can see from our registration site or our website, many parts of the conference are already announced. If you submitted a proposal to give a paper/presentation, you will hear back from the APT by mid-January. You can find an updated schedule, bibliography, and link to registration through our website here, under “2016 Biennial Conference”. Happy New Year, and thank you for the countless ways that your labor opens out the freeing potential of theological action through teaching, research, and service in religion and society.
